What am I committing to by signing up?
The Career Pathing commitment is one 30-minute conversation with your connection.
If your Career Guide (mentor) offers to connect on LinkedIn or continue the conversation after your session that's cool with us, but Path Finders should not request additional meetings with their Career Guide (respect their boundaries and time!)
Can I chat with you to see if I’d be a good fit as a Career Guide?
Always! Get started with these resources, and if you have any questions, book a chat time with a curator here.
Can I switch to become a Path Finder (mentee)?
Absolutely! Send us a message to support@thechicgeek.ca. We’ll open up the Path Finder questions for you to answer. You’ll receive an email giving you access through your Member Portal. Once you’ve completed the new match fields, we’ll get to work making a connection with a Career Guide for you.
Can I take a break from Career Pathing?
At Chic Geek, we believe that strong relationships with others start with healthy relationships with ourselves. If at any time you feel that you do not have the space or capacity for Career Pathing, please let us know. Send an email to support@thechicgeek.ca and we can either hold the month for you or cancel your membership.
What if I already know my match?
Let us know by sending an email to support@thechicgeek.ca and we’ll connect you with someone new!
Once an intro is sent, can I reach out to the mentee first?
Yes! It’s always nice when someone takes the pressure off and makes the first move.
While we encourage Path Finders to take ownership of the connection, if you don’t hear something from them in the first 48-hours, a prompting emails is aways appreciated.
What do I not hear back from my connection after I send them an email to set up a meeting?
Being ghosted sucks! Our Chic Geek curators try their best to remove unengaged members, so if you are connected with an individual who is not responding send us a note at support@thechicgeek.ca. We will find you a new connection ASAP and follow up with the individual.
What if I am no longer available to make a connection?
At Chic Geek, we believe that strong relationships with others starts with healthy relationships with ourselves. If at any time you feel that you do not have the space or capacity for Career Pathing, please let us know. No hard feelings! This way we can ensure that the matches we are making can reach their full potential, and we promise to save you a seat for when you are ready to jump back in.
