This event is a proud collaboration between Chic Geek and Calgary UX in celebration of International Women’s Day, a global call to action for gender parity. Chic Geek exists to build gender diversity in technology and Calgary UX is committed to building a diverse design community across all disciplines and industries.

This year’s International Women’s Day theme is #ChoosetoChallenge. It’s about making the choice to call out gender bias and inequality. It takes courage, honesty and open-mindedness to do this - skills we also need as designers and human beings.

We’ve curated a powerhouse panel to explore how we can achieve candid conversation in design and our relationships. As designers, we’re constantly receiving constructive feedback and giving it. Sometimes it’s really hard. Similarly, in our personal lives, we need to give and receive feedback from people we care about. We’ll explore mindset, emotional resilience, and approaches to conversation that will help you be successful in navigating vulnerable conversations.

Speakers:
* Paula Blackmore-White, Manager of People Development at Benevity
* Cami Travis-Groves, Transformational Coach
* Anu Sharma-Niwa, M.A., Registered Psychologist with Heart of Communication

We recognize that women often carry more home burden and face significant struggles to achieve work-life balance. This event will blend the discussion between work and life so we can better support each other on both fronts.

From challenge, comes change. Join us to explore how this applies in design and in our personal lives.

Tickets are FREE.
