Scrum Master

We are looking for a Scrum Master Certified (SMC) professional and servant leader with experience motivating, organizing, leading product/project teams, and creating an overall environment conducive to successfully deliver value to your customer. With your background in Agile ways of working, coupled with your project management expertise and exposure to data or analytics projects, you will be a great fit for our team!

You will use your expertise to:

  • Develop and execute the entire project, using an agile approach, including the sprint release plan, funding strategy, milestones, deliverables, schedule, critical path items and interdependencies to execute the project effectively

  • Lead, build, champion and drive the cultural adoption of agile-based delivery across projects and business areas with a focus on the data value stream

  • Participate in organizational change management activities supporting agile adoption

  • Build agile capability and adoption of agile values, principles and behaviors within product/project teams and the various supporting organizations, including delivery partners and vendor organizations

  • Lead, execute, and coach the various agile ceremonies, work methods and practices to product/project teams including, backlog refinement and planning, sprint planning and retrospectives, sprint and story estimations and agile project resource planning

Must-haves (minimum requirements):

  • Eight years of project management experience including five years as a scrum master, or agile project/program manager

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Data Practice(s) or equivalent work experience

  • Proven capability of agile methodologies such as Scrum and agile work practices

  • Strong proficiency with agile toolsets

  • Exceptional ability to influence without authority, coach and develop diverse groups with sound communications

  • An understanding of project management techniques and systems, as well as their application to data programs / projects

  • Agile or PMI certifications

  • Alignment with our values: safety above all else, stronger together, operational discipline, curiosity and lifelong learning, and act with integrity

Preference for:

  • Oil and Gas experience

  • Exposure to delivering data and analytics projects

  • Previous strategy or digital transformation experience

  • Knowledge of Design Thinking principles

Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:

  • You will work out of our Calgary head office, located in the Suncor Energy Centre at 150 – 6th Ave S.W.

  • Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday

  • Relocation support will be provided
